PROTECT YOUR VEHICLE WITH OUR PREMIUM PAINT PROTECTION FILM SERVICES

What is ppf?

PPF is a clear, high-durability film designed to safeguard your vehicle's paint from various types of damage. When applied to your car’s exterior, PPF forms a protective barrier against scratches, stone chips, and other environmental hazards that could harm the paintwork. Made from advanced polyurethane, PPF is engineered to absorb impacts and resist fading, ensuring your vehicle maintains its appearance. Additionally, PPF has self-healing properties that allow minor scratches to repair themselves with the application of heat. This innovative solution not only preserves your vehicle’s visual appeal but also enhances its resale value by keeping the paint in excellent condition.

enhances of PPF

Paint Protection Film provides numerous advantages beyond just improving appearance. As a robust shield against common hazards, PPF effectively reduces the risk of scratches, chips, and other damage from road debris, insects, and environmental conditions. This protective layer helps maintain your vehicle’s showroom shine, keeping it looking fresh and new over time. The self-healing feature of PPF allows minor imperfections to disappear with heat exposure, preserving the paint’s smooth finish. Additionally, PPF’s resistance to UV rays and contaminants helps prevent discoloration and oxidation, extending the life of your car’s paint and enhancing its resale value.

types of ppf

PPF is available in various types, each offering different levels of protection and visual effects. Standard options include gloss, matte, and satin finishes, allowing you to choose a film that enhances your vehicle’s style. Gloss PPF provides a high-shine finish that deepens and clarifies the paint, while matte PPF delivers a smooth, non-reflective surface for a sleek, modern look. Satin PPF offers a unique finish with a subtle sheen, merging aspects of both gloss and matte. Additionally, advanced films come in different thicknesses and include features such as self-healing technology to repair minor scratches and increase durability. Selecting the appropriate type of PPF ensures your vehicle receives the best protection and matches your aesthetic preferences.

the Process

Applying PPF involves several essential steps to ensure a flawless and durable finish. First, the vehicle’s surface is thoroughly cleaned and prepped to remove any dirt, wax, or contaminants that could interfere with adhesion. Once prepared, the PPF is meticulously measured, cut, and customized to fit the vehicle’s specific contours. Expert technicians then apply the film with precision to prevent bubbles, wrinkles, or creases. After the film is applied, it is carefully smoothed out, and in some cases, heat is used to activate its self-healing properties and ensure a perfect bond. Professional installation is crucial for ensuring the film adheres properly and performs effectively, providing maximum protection and a seamless appearance.

maintenance and support

To ensure Paint Protection Film remains effective and durable, proper care is crucial. Regular washing with a mild, pH-balanced soap is recommended to remove dirt and contaminants while preserving the film. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive tools, as they can impair the film’s clarity and durability. For the best results, use a soft microfiber cloth or sponge for cleaning. Additionally, applying a gentle wax or sealant specifically formulated for PPF can enhance its shine and provide extra protection. Many PPFs have self-healing properties that can be activated with heat from sunlight or a heat gun, allowing minor scratches and imperfections to diminish. Following these maintenance tips will help your PPF continue to safeguard and preserve your vehicle’s paint for years.

FAQ's

What is the toughest PPF?

Xpel by far produces the toughest film on the market. It is designed to provide optimal surface protection to the most high-impact areas you can imagine and will protect your paintwork from stone chips, scratches, scuffs and more. It is also self healing and comes with a 10 year warranty against yellowing and cracking. The Xpel Ultimate Plus gloss PPF will enhance your paintwork as well as protecting it. PPF specific ceramic coatings can be applied on top to add an extra layer of protection.

How long does PPF last?

PPF can last on average around 7-10 years. Longevity can depend on how well the PPF is looked after, the amount of UV exposure it has and the use it is put through.

What does PPF protect against?

PPF protects against stone chips and road debris, scratches and scuffs, chemical stains and etching as well as UV damage and oxidation.

How much does PPF cost?

The cost of a professional PPF installation can range from £450.00 for front bumper coverage to £5500 for a full car installation. Contributing factors to such a vast disparity in pricing are things such as the condition of the existing paintwork, the coverage of the film and the length of time the installation will take.

How do you wash Xpel PPF?

We advise using pH neutral shampoos in conjunction with a lambswool wash mitt. If using a pressure washer you will need to be mindful to stay around two feet away when using it, especially around the edges of the film. Although not essential, the two-bucket method is highly recommended when washing.

Can you polish Xpel PPF?

While it is technically possible to polish paint protection film, it is not a recommended practice as it may have a detrimental effect on the film’s performance. Polishing or waxing paint protection film can cause discoloration and cloudiness over time.
